The fight for Gay Rights is very important to me because everyone deserves to be "FREE!" America is declared the land of the free. But yet gays still have to fight for there marriage! I have been working for the struggle of gay rights for about two years, even before I came to terms with my own sexuality. This protest means a lot to me because I feel it helps me spread the word and get people involved and aware with the battle for marriage equality that many others and I go through every day of our lives. I feel as though when I convince someone that gay rights are human rights, I feel as though I have gotten my equality goal accomplished a little more. I am glad that I can help change society so that many more people will understand that equality should always end up on the right side of history.  Hi my name is Mark. I am 30 years old and from Cleveland Ohio. I have served in both the navy and the army. In 2009 I finally got tired of being in the closet, completed my service in the army, and officially came out. I have been active in my GSA at Cleveland State, volunteered with Equality Ohio, and protested with GetEqual OH. I'm one of the admins of the Facebook page GLBT (Right to Marry) Ohio. I helped organize a "Kissing is cool" Facebook protest event to protest censorship of same sex kissing photos by Facebook. The event had over 50,000 participants and reached almost 300,000 people. Equal rights should never be denied to anyone. I will work continue to work until everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and treated equally. |
 Hi my name is Logan Schraufnagel. I support the fight for marriage equality. I support this fight because it is important for everyone to be treated with respect, dignity, and equally without regards whom a person loves. Everyone should be able to marry the person they love and nobody should be a second class citizen in this country. I believe in freedom and I don't support people voting to take the rights of minorities in this country away just because they don't agree with them personally. Discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity needs to be stopped. |
